Lumineers are made from a very thin porcelain called Cerinate, which is an incredibly strong new form of porcelain. Unlike regular porcelain veneers, there is generally no need for injections, no or very minimal removal of tooth structure required and the treatment is usually painless from start-to-finish.

Traditional porcelain veneers require the removal of a small amount of tooth structure through a process of drilling the tooth which may be necessary in some cases. This is irreversible and can occasionally prove uncomfortable for the patient during treatment. Lumineers, in contrast, can be as thin as contact lenses. There is no removal of dental structure and lumineers can even be placed over existing crowns or bridgework, without the need to have them replaced.

The initial stage will simply involve taking an impression of your teeth from which a working model is formed, which is then sent to the Cerinate studio for the specialist crafting of your custom made Lumineer shells.

Designed to fit perfectly against your individual teeth, and enhance the existing natural beauty of your face and mouth, your Lumineers are then fixed. At this stage we make sure that they are made exactly to the required specifications.Using specialised cement shades we are able to completely cover over underlying stained or discoloured teeth or old crowns. Once satisfied, we then bond them to your teeth and set them in place using a specialised curing light.

After just two visits to the dental chair, you are then free to continue life as normal, with the addition of a set of new, vibrant and beautiful teeth.

Lumineers are an ideal solution to rejuvenating your smile and can last for up to 20 years in their role as a cosmetic enhancement to your smile. In the event of problems, they are also able to be removed and either your teeth re-treated or an alternative sought.
